Bites of Greece: Five Greek Regions Take the Spotlight on Social Media
Last week, the Greek regions participating in this year’s Bites of Greece event were prominently featured across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) targeting the consumer audience in London. Each region was highlighted with a unique post that included a photo of its most recognizable landmark, an agri-food product that defines it, and information on the number of producers and products available at Bites of Greece locations in London from May 31 to July 31.
Specifically, the Region of Attica is participating with 15 producers and more than 70 products. The Region of Central Macedonia is represented by 16 producers and over 80 products. The Region of Central Greece has 6 producers with more than 30 products. The Ionian Islands Region includes 5 producers and over 20 products. Finally, the Region of Epirus has 10 producers with more than 50 products. In total, the 5 regions provide an opportunity for 52 producers to connect with the British audience, promoting over 250 food and drink products.
Aiming to connect agri-food products with their place of origin, the posts are intended to inform the British public, the top source of tourists to Greece, with information that strengthens the trend of recent years linking gastronomic wealth with tourism. Each post briefly presents the tourist profile of each region with elements of its history, traditions, the unique experiences visitors can enjoy, and the special gastronomic dishes and recipes they can try, which vary from region to region.
