Bites of Greece: Greek Products Exhibition Opened at Upmarket Open Market
Reco Exports announces the launch of the third phase of the Bites Of Greece export initiative, with the opening of a Greek products exhibition at the well-established outdoor market Upmarket in East London. Upmarket has been operating for over 20 years, offering innovative street food, fresh produce, desserts, drinks, and more.
From July 3rd to July 25th, and every weekend, food and drink enthusiasts will have the opportunity to discover, taste, and purchase Greek products that are participating in the Bites of Greece initiative at the Upmarket open market at Truman Brewery. Simultaneously, the successful operation of the Bites Of Greece Pop-Up Store in Islington, London, continues. It opened its doors to the public on June 16th and will remain open until July 13th, 2021.
Tasting Event Theme
On Thursday, July 1st, the first thematic tasting event was held at the Bites Of Greece Pop-Up Store with Sarah Wyndham Lewis, co-founder of Bermondsey Street Bees and judge of the Great Taste Awards. The distinguished honey sommelier coordinated the tasting session, presenting six Greek honeys alongside six aromatic herbs and plants, aiming to highlight the quality and unique characteristics of each variety.
The next few weeks are expected to feature two more specially designed events focusing on Greek olive oil and Greek wine, respectively.
Showcasing on British TV Channel GB News
A significant event of the past week was the promotion of the Bites Of Greece initiative on the British TV channel GB News, featuring Tonia Buxton. Tonia Buxton, a Greece and Greek food enthusiast, restaurant owner, and host of the TV shows My Greek Kitchen and My Cypriot Kitchen on Discovery Channel, visited the Pop-Up Store, sampled Greek products, and spoke with the co-organizers of Bites Of Greece, Reco Exports, and Murphy London.
During the program, the show’s contributors tasted Greek foods and drinks participating in the initiative, speaking very positively about the innovative project of Bites Of Greece.
