Bites of Greece: Over 300 Products at the Pop-Up Store in Islington
On June 16, the BITES OF GREECE Pop-Up store opened its doors in the Islington area of London.
The carefully designed and decorated store features over 300 products from 52 businesses, supported by the regions of Attica, Epirus, the Ionian Islands, Central Macedonia, and Central Greece, as well as nine independent participants. From June 16 to July 13, 2021, consumers and professionals in the food and beverage industry, as well as the press, will have the opportunity to discover, taste, and learn about the selected, unique, and innovative products of BITES OF GREECE at special events dedicated to the producers and their products (producers’ days), where two or three businesses are featured each day. Every Friday and Saturday, a distinguished chef prepares three-course menus, pairing products and creating breakfast (breakfast bites) and lunch (lunch bites) suggestions that visitors can taste for free.
The initiative aims to raise awareness among British consumers about Greek products during a particularly challenging time for global food exports. More importantly, participants will gain as comprehensive feedback as possible from the presence of their products on London store shelves. In this direction, in addition to discussions with food industry professionals visiting the event, every purchase is accompanied by consumer feedback on the products they discovered at the store.
Launch Party
On June 24, the Pop-Up store’s Launch Party was held, attended by the Greek Ambassador to London, Mr. Ioannis Raptakis, the Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office, Mr. Gerasimos Lazaris, and the Commercial Attaché of the Cypriot Embassy in London, Mr. Kostas Dafos. Representatives from organizations, media, industry professionals (distributors, merchants, company representatives, food bloggers, journalists, etc.), and residents of the Islington area, who are known for their significant influence in shaping new trends in the food and catering industry across the UK, were also invited and attended.
Finally, RECO EXPORTS is excited to announce that the first presentation of Greek products at Partridges of Sloane Square was particularly successful, as the store requested an extension of the “Greek Front of Store Takeover” initiative for an additional month (until July 25).
