Promotion and Development of the Greek Food and Beverages in the UK

Combining the authenticity of Greek tradition, Mediterranean healthy diet, and the innovative mindset of the new generation of Greek producers, the export action BITES OF GREECE, organized by RECO EXPORTS with the support of Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic British Chamber of Commerce, will showcase the Artisan, Organic, Free-From, and Vegan aspect of Greece, highlighting the award-winning and innovative products of Agrodiatrofiko of Ploutos in the United Kingdom.

The action will last two months and include sales, tastings, and promotion to British consumers, food experts, and buyers.

Specifically, it will include:

• Market entry consulting for the UK based on post-BREXIT and mid-COVID data
• Proper market entry strategy and pricing policy
• Setting up a pop-up store in London serving as a delicatessen store & gastronomy/tasting showroom aiming to promote, highlight, and sell unique Greek products to British consumers and professionals – DURATION: 4 weeks
• Placement for sale of participants’ products in a “Greek corner” within one of the trendy grocery stores in London (Quarter Store, The Camden Grocer, etc.) – DURATION: 4 weeks
• Promotion, highlighting, and sale at one of London’s major open markets (Courage Yard Market, Borough Market, etc.) – DURATION: 4 weeks
• Full sales and consumer & professional buyer satisfaction report

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTION

The objective is to provide Greek entrepreneurs interested in the UK market with substantial feedback on their products through introduction and tasting by British consumers and industry professionals, who will be invited to the above presentation points.

Additionally, for businesses already present in the United Kingdom through distributors/representatives, the action will provide an opportunity to break into the “mass” market and further strengthen their distributor and market share.

Expected industry professionals visiting the pop-up store include:

Planet Organic, Ocado, Waitrose, Sainsbury, Hello Fresh, Marks & Spencer, Bestway, Spar, Morrisons, Co-op, Aldi, Holland & Barrett, Tesco, Booker, Asda, Budgens, Greggs, Sodexo, Whitbread, Bidvest Foodservice, Selfridges, FC Hilton Hotels, Kraft Heinz, Nestle Kerry, Foods Dairy, Crest, Hovis, Lloyds Pharmacy, John Lewis, The Grocer, Majestic, Drinks Business, Lea and Sandeman, Arden Fine Wines, Berry Bros. & Rudd, and many others.
