RECO EXPORTS' Recipe for Success: Special Feature in the Newspaper ``Macedonia``
Synonymous with food and beverage exports, it carries a Greek signature but is based in the United Kingdom, while its operations extend from Europe to Asia and Oceania.
For approximately 25 years, RECO EXPORTS has been engaged in the development and management of food and beverage exports and the proper promotion of brands abroad. It has over 15 years of experience in international trade fairs.
With a presence in London, Stockholm, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Thessaloniki, leveraging its years of experience in international trade, it directs businesses regarding their proper promotion and development in the markets where they operate.
Additionally, it represents some of the most significant international food and beverage exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans, offering businesses unique and personalized one-stop services for their export development.
“Since 1998, we have been operating as export development and management consultants and as brokers in the food and beverage sector. Today, we promote products of our clients in the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, with clients including supermarkets such as Tesco, Morrisons, Woolworths, ThreeSixty, City’Super, ICA, and Coop,” says Antonis Sioulis, Managing Director of RECO EXPORTS.
Moreover, the company operates in smaller markets such as Macau, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, the Scandinavian countries, and the United Arab Emirates. The goal is to further penetrate these markets through the selection of the right distribution networks and the right strategy.
Meanwhile, RECO EXPORTS aims to strengthen its presence in the private label products sector and promote them to major supermarket chains.
“The trend globally in the supermarket sector is reducing shelf prices for the end consumer through private label products. Our mission is to help businesses producing branded products find their sales points abroad but also turn to private label products,” clarifies Mr. Sioulis.
The creation of the company’s office in Thessaloniki in 2008 was a milestone in RECO EXPORTS’ journey. The office represents some of the largest food and beverage exhibitions globally and has been a long-standing partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Enterprise Greece, Chambers of Commerce, Regions, and many other entities in Greece concerning Greek product exports to the UK and Scandinavia.
Its goal is to promote Greek entrepreneurship, innovation, and Greek products, which despite their clear superiority in terms of nutritional value and quality, fall behind in marketing and branding. “This is our challenge: to position Greek products where they deserve and are entitled,” explains the company’s managing director.
So, what were the ingredients of RECO EXPORTS’ success? According to Mr. Sioulis, hard work, proper planning, continuous information, and vigilance regarding the changes taking place in the supermarket sector in recent years, as well as the immediate adaptation to new data, gave the company an advantage in the industry.
“Our competitive advantage is that we approach the right markets with the right strategy and through the ideal distribution network for healthy growth and assured results. We minimize the commercial and managerial risk inherent in the food and beverage export sector while ensuring effective and efficient export development with correct and confident steps. We shape profitable solutions that perfectly cover the local needs of target markets,” clarifies Mr. Sioulis.
It is noted that the range of products exported includes various snacks, health foods, olive oil and olive products, dairy products, and desserts, whether branded or private label (organic and conventional). These products are produced by recognized companies within and outside the EU.
Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives
RECO EXPORTS finances the Corporate Social Responsibility program it implements with approximately 100,000 euros annually.
According to Mr. Sioulis, the company supports humanitarian aid in cases of disasters, such as floods in Thessaly.
Furthermore, it has provided sponsorships to football academies in Stockholm and cities in the UK, while it is interested in sponsorship actions concerning people and the environment.
