Dynamic Presence at Indus Food 2026
The Field Trips / Business Missions to India and the participation in Indus Food 2026 were successfully completed, leaving a strong and positive overall impact. The missions significantly enhanced the international visibility of Greek agri-food companies and created new opportunities for cooperation in the Indian market.
The initiative was supported by the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace and the Region of Peloponnese, both of which actively facilitated the participation of companies from their respective regions, reinforcing Greece’s coordinated presence at the exhibition.
Through targeted meetings and professional contacts, participating companies were able to explore market potential, present their products to key stakeholders and gain valuable insights into the characteristics, requirements and emerging trends of the Indian market. These interactions laid a solid foundation for the development of future commercial partnerships.
Mission Framework and Key Activities
As part of the field trips, the participating companies visited local supermarkets in order to better understand the structure of the Indian retail market, including pricing strategies and product placement practices. Also, visits were organised to production facilities and offices of Indian companies, allowing for direct exchange of information and in-depth discussions on potential cooperation and the possible introduction of Greek products into the market.
During Indus Food 2026, Greek products were prominently showcased at the exhibition, while a series of targeted B2B meetings took place with Indian buyers and trade representatives. In addition, a dedicated networking dinner with Indian buyers was organised, offering a more informal yet effective setting for relationship-building and the development of trust between the parties involved.
The exhibition was further honoured by the presence and active participation of Ms Chrysa Prokopaki, Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office of the Embassy of Greece in New Delhi, Mr Sanjeet Yadav, Scientific Associate of the same Office, and Mr Sotiris Papadopoulos, Director General of Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Services of the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace. Their participation underscored the institutional character of the Greek presence and highlighted the strategic importance of Indus Food for strengthening trade relations between Greece and India.
