Larissa's Chamber of Commerce: Strengthening local entrepreneurship through ongoing initiatives

The Larissa Chamber of Commerce announces that the organization continues its promotional efforts to boost local entrepreneurship, specifically in the food and beverage sector, following two main strategies: a) providing financial support to businesses for their participation in international exhibitions both abroad and domestically, and b) organizing business missions abroad, as well as hosting foreign buyers in our city.

As part of this framework, the three-day business mission from Sweden to Larissa is being implemented. On Thursday, November 7, a networking business dinner was held between the invited Swedish entrepreneurs and local Larissa businesses in a hall at the Dionysos Hotel.

On behalf of the organization, present at the event were the President, Mr. S. Giannakopoulos, the General Secretary, Mrs. K. Tzika, the Board Member and Presidential candidate, Mr. K. Gourgiotis, and the Administrative Director, Mrs. K. Tsolaki.

Nine Swedish entrepreneurs – major importers and wholesalers – after their morning meetings with representatives from 18 local businesses on the 3rd floor of the Chamber building, gathered again for a joint dinner, discussing potential collaboration opportunities.

During the evening, each of the Swedish guests was introduced, and their business activities were discussed in detail. President Mr. Giannakopoulos then emphasized the outward-looking nature of the Larissa Chamber of Commerce, which has been strongly supported by the current administration over the years, backing and strengthening initiatives both abroad and domestically.

The President highlighted that “as a Chamber, we are targeting North countries, which are wealthy, have purchasing power, and seek Mediterranean products.” He added that during this term, similar initiatives, such as hosting foreign business delegations in our city, have also been implemented in the past, particularly in the dairy sector (with feta cheese importers) in the pre-COVID era.

The most encouraging aspect was that the Swedish major importers expressed being impressed by the quality and characteristics of the Greek products, samples of which they had the opportunity to taste during this three-day event.
