RECO Exports Participates in the 1st Blue Heritage Forum of Western Macedonia
Antonis Sioulis, Managing Director of RECO Exports, took part in the panel discussion titled “Sustainable Tourism and the Role of Local Communities” during the 1st Blue Heritage Forum of Western Macedonia, “Blue Economy, Circular Economy & Culture,” held in Florina, Greece.
During his intervention, Mr. Sioulis highlighted RECO Exports’ role as the exclusive representative of the National Geographic Traveller (UK) Food Festival and discussed the opportunities that participation in such a prestigious international event creates for the promotion of alternative Greek destinations. He emphasized that the festival offers a unique platform for showcasing regions of Greece that remain largely undiscovered by British travellers, despite their authenticity, rich gastronomy, and strong cultural identity.
The presence of Greek destinations and producers at an event focused on authentic travel experiences, culinary heritage, and cultural diversity contributes significantly to raising awareness of local products and traditions. At the same time, it supports the diversification of Greece’s tourism offering while promoting the country’s cultural heritage to international audiences.
With more than 25 years of experience in representing international exhibitions and events, RECO Exports continues to support initiatives that give visibility to local communities and position Greece as a diverse and sustainable tourism destination, enriched by its cultural heritage and exceptional agri-food products.
The Blue Heritage Forum was organized by BeyondCSR in collaboration with the University of London – Central Saint Martins, the University of Greenwich, and the National Technical University of Athens (UNESCO Chair), under the auspices of the Region of Western Macedonia, the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Macedonia, the Municipality of Florina, SDSN Greece, the European Parliament Office in Greece, SEVE, CSR Hellas, the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Hellenic-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the British Council. The initiative was further supported by the European Commission Representation in Greece, the British-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Florina Chamber of Commerce, and HELEXPO as Innovation Partner.
The Forum served as an important platform for highlighting the role of the blue and circular economy, as well as culture, as key drivers of sustainable development in Western Macedonia.
Mr. Sioulis’ participation underscored the importance of collaboration between local stakeholders and international organizations in advancing sustainable tourism practices and creating long-term value for local communities.
