Combining the authenticity of Greek tradition, the Mediterranean healthy diet, and the innovative mindset of the new generation of Greek producers, the export action “BITES OF GREECE” featuring 61 businesses will showcase Greece’s Artisan, Organic, Free-From, and Vegan aspects, highlighting the award-winning and innovative products of its Agri-food Sector in the United Kingdom.

The initiative starts on Monday, May 31st, and is expected to be completed by July 31st.

Apart from the targeted consultancy each business will receive for the British market, in a post-BREXIT and mid-COVID era that has brought many changes to the market, the action includes the following:

  • Creation of a pop-up store in London functioning for 4 weeks as a delicatessen store & gastronomy tasting showroom, aiming to promote, showcase, and sell unique Greek products to British consumers and professionals.
  • For 4 weeks, the placement of participating products in a “Greek corner” at Partridges, one of London’s most popular delicatessens.
  • For 4 weeks, promotion, showcasing, and selling at the famous Truman Brewery’s Upmarket, one of London’s major open markets.

The goal of the action is to provide Greek entrepreneurs interested in the UK market with substantial feedback on their products through exposure and tasting by British consumers and industry professionals invited to the above-mentioned showcase points.

Simultaneously, for companies that already have a presence in the United Kingdom through distributors/representatives, the action will allow them to tap into the “mass” market and further strengthen their distributorship and market share.

Expected industry professionals visiting the pop-up store include:

Holland & Barrett, Boots, Planet Organic, Marks & Spencer, Harrods, Tesco, Booker Wholesale Spar, Waitrose, Asda, Budgens Co-op, J Sainsbury, Ocado, Hello Fresh, Bestway, Greggs, Sodexo, Whitbread, Harvey Nichols, Bidvest Foodservice, Selfridges, FC Hilton Hotels, Starbucks, Kraft Heinz, Nestle Kerry, Foods Dairy, Crest, Hovis, Lloyds Pharmacy, John Lewis, The Grocer, Majestic, Drinks Business, Lea and Sandeman, Arden Fine Wines, Berry Bros. & Rudd, and many others.

“Bites of Greece” is organized by RECO Exports & Murphy London Communications, with the support of Enterprise Greece, the Greek Embassy in the United Kingdom, the Hellenic British Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Regions of Attica, Central Macedonia, Central Greece, Epirus, and the Ionian Islands.
